The church as a alternative political Community

Ancient church
Jesus as king
12 Apostles as judges and delegates

Law—Law of Jesus
Praise and pronouncement of Jesus as King
Inviting others to become slaves of Jesus
Commands by word by the authority of Jesus
Grants provision to the community and others who might be in need from resources
Receives wealth/tribute through free will offerings only
Applies the law of Jesus
Enforces the law through church discipline
Establishes new alternative communities
Prays to God for protection from enemies


Political offices:
Apostle—official delegate of a congregation
Prophet—Spokesperson for God/the Spirit
Evangelist—Archivist for the law and example of Jesus
Pastor/Teacher—Judge and interpreter of Jesus’ law to community
Elder—Decision-maker of community
Deacon—Benevolance leader; administrator




Modern political systems and their church alternative
Executive – enforcer of law
Judicial—Application of law; interpretation of law
Legislative—Creator of law

Welfare—Benevolance
